Welcome to Skinea by Claire. By downloading or using our mobile application (“App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

1. Use of the App

Skinea by Claire allows users to scan cosmetic product barcodes, view ingredient information, analyze product safety, browse healthier alternatives, and explore top-rated products by category. You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and not to misuse the features or harm the service or its users.

2. Accounts and Security

If you create an account, you must provide accurate and complete information. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Data and Privacy

Your use of the App is governed by our Privacy Policy. In particular:

• Barcode Scans: Barcode images are not stored. Scan history may be saved to improve your experience.
• Ingredient Photos: If you upload an ingredient list image, it is used exclusively for text extraction and deleted immediately after processing.
• Ingredient Data: Extracted text and analysis results may be stored to provide personalized recommendations and history.

By using the App, you consent to this collection and processing as described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Intellectual Property

All content, algorithms, product databases, ingredient analyses, designs, and recommendations generated by the App are the property of Skinea by Claire or its licensors, protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.

5. Third-Party Services

The App may use third-party tools or APIs (e.g., Firebase, RevenueCat, external barcode/product databases, AI services). Skinea by Claire is not responsible for the content, reliability, or policies of third-party providers.

6. Cosmetic Safety Disclaimer

The ingredient analyses, safety scores, and product recommendations provided by Skinea by Claire are for informational purposes only. They do not constitute dermatological, medical, or professional cosmetic advice. For concerns regarding allergies, skin reactions, or ingredient safety, consult a qualified healthcare or dermatology professional.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Skinea by Claire shall not be liable for any damages arising from:

• Use of the App or inability to use the App
• Reliance on ingredient analyses or product recommendations
• Errors, missing data, or outdated product information

You use the App at your own risk.

8. Subscriptions and Billing

• Payments are charged to your App Store or Google Play account upon confirmation.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is disabled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• You may manage or cancel subscriptions via your App Store or Google Play settings.
• Any unused portion of a free trial will be forfeited when a subscription is purchased.

9. Children’s Use

The App is not intended for children under age 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from users under this age.

10. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms of Use occasionally. Updated versions will be made available through the App or our website. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
